The typical face of our members may look like adults who suffer from chronic illnesses such as:
- Hypertension/High Blood Pressure
- Cardiovascular Disease
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Adults who have completed a course of inpatient rehabilitation but continue to require ongoing therapeutic and exercise programs for optimal recovery
- Frail elders needing a safe environment with professional support to prevent falls
- Seniors who are isolated at home and would experience improvement in the social environment
- Families and care partners who require respite for personal emotional and physical soundness
Families and care partners find that their loved ones are healthier and happier as a result of participation in The Retreat. We give our members opportunities to make new friends, try different activities and feel a renewed sense of purpose.
Visitors are always welcome. In fact, we encourage you to take a tour, as well as take advantage of a complimentary visit for your loved one. The trial visit is a great time to assess and be assured that The Retreat fits you and your loved one. Email The Retreat at email@example.com to arrange your visit.
You may choose the days of attendance, from two to five days per week. It is strongly recommended to both the member and the care partner, to attend at least three days a week to provide beneficial respite for the caregiver and a consistent schedule for your loved one.
No. Although many physicians recommend The Retreat, a doctor’s referral is not necessary. However, we do require a physician-completed statement about your loved one’s medical condition prior to the first day of attendance.
Most long-term care insurance policies cover adult day services; check your policy for specific coverage and limitations. Your loved one may also be entitled to VA Aid & Attendance benefits if he/she meets certain veteran qualifications. Currently adult day services are not covered by Medicare. The Retreat does not participate in the Medicaid program.
Just call to schedule an appointment for a tour and/or trial visit. During your visit, you will be guided through the entire enrollment process and assisted with any pre-enrollment paperwork.
The Retreat offers educational and support sessions throughout the year that focus on useful caregiving topics for our families and care partners.
